Abstract: The aims of this research were to estimate compound group in P. tinctorum’s extract, test their dichloromethane extract bioactivity as anti-tuberculosis against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV and their toxicity against Artemia salina. The result of specific color test indicated that phenolic, depside and many β-orcinol depsidone compound were present in hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and acetone extracts whereas depsidone and depside with two free hydroxyl groups on meta position were present only in ethyl acetate and acetone extracts. The result of bioactivity test showed that dichloromethane extract was toxic to Artemia salina, (LC50 = 57.016 μg/ml) but it could not inhibit Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV growth.
