Abstract: Daily activity pattern of female siamang during menstrual cycle was studied at the primate enclosure in Schmutzer Primate Center, Ragunan Zoo, Jakarta, from January to March 2005. The objectives of this research are to examine the dialy activity of female siamang in captivity during menstrual cycle and differences of activity budget between estrous and unestrous individuals. The data were collected from 10 years old of two female individuals everyday, from 09.00 am to 04.00 pm. Combination of scan sampling and ad libitum sampling methods with five minutes duration for each sample point were used. The data comparized of daily activity, for instance: moving (approaching, avoiding, brachiating), resting, feeding, calling, grooming, physical contacts with her mates, and copulating. The observed parameter for the estrous female was swelling on the genital area of female. The percentages of female activity during estrous were higher than unestrous female. The activities were avoiding, approaching, branchiating, feeding, calling, and physical contacts with her mates
