Abstract: The analysis of the chicken albumen proteins in the oviduct induced by sex steroid hormones were studied. Nineteen days old Bab Cock B-380 female chicks were primed with estradiol benzoate at a dose of 0.25 mg/chick/day/ for four consecutive days and were divided into for groups. Each group was injected intra muscularly (im) for another four consecutive days. At the end of the experiment, all chickens wre decapitated, and the oviduct were removed , and the wet weight were recorded. The chicken oviduct albumen were analyzed by SDS-PAGE method using standard molecular weight ( 14.2 - 66 KD ). There were five chicken oviduct albumen proteins either in the control or treatment groups, i.e : ovoinhibitor , ovalbumin , globulin, flavprotein, and lysozyme, respectively. Further, there were diffrences in the protein among control and treatment groups according to the band thickness. It has been suggested that either testosterone or progesterone may act synergistically with estradiol in increasing albumen levels in the chicken oviduct.
