Abstract: | Cryopreservation is basically method for preserving biological materials in which protein, nucleic acid, semen, and ova are maintained in the structurally intact physiological active state. The ultimate goal for collecting and storing biomaterials is to enhance conservation of all species. The use of cryopreserved sperm will facilitate management by reducing the number of living males required in captivity and permitting distribution of valuable genes long distances without the need for moving (and stressing) animals. The aim of study was to evaluate the cryoprotectant effect of Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) on the spermatozoa profile of japanese quail 24 hours post cryopreservation. |
